Who manufacturers KS watches? Well, it's not Kronen & Sohne. Instead, they outsource their watch manufacturing to many Chinese companies, who will put anyone's logo on the dial as long as long at the customer meets the MOQ (minimum order quantity). That typically requires an order of 500 units.


Kronen & Sohne: KS is a Product of Na-Chuan in Guangzhou, China. They do not manufacturer their watches. The vast majority of information they promulgate may be fabricated.

• Kronen & Söhne (KS) is a trademark of Na-Chuan. The company is owned by Yip Wing Kin and his brother Yip Wing Wor.  Their philosophy is to sell cheap retro designed watches on eBay. 

• Kronen & Söhne is not a German Company. 

• Mr. Ludwig van deer Waals is a figment of one person's imagination. Ludwig does not exist and he doesn't have a "team". The web site is part of the na-chuan.com group of websites, which the company updated in 2016.

• Kronen & Sohne a mushroom company

"Mushroom brands" (also referred to as "myth brands"), so called because they pop-up overnight ... are watch companies which are completely outsourced to a high-volume Chinese manufacturer ... and then sold exclusively over the Internet. Myth brands often feature European sounding names and claims of European origin, elaborate tales about the brand's namesake, and sky-high listed MSRP's - but are then always "On Sale!" ...

KS positions themselves as a German watch company and claim they began business in Germany in 1992. They also claim that they have a chief designer named Mr. Ludwig van deer Waals.  According to my sources, Mr. Ludwig van deer Waals is a 27 year-old female in the art department of Na-Chuan.

They use Original Design Manufacturing firms or ODM to produce their watches -a system that allows companies to chose an existing design.

Few watch companies have their own factory. They just sell products another service provider assembles for them.

I have examined a number of KS watches. Overall, KS watches are cheap. They target people with "no money" according to their manager. At the prices they charge, you can get a sense of their true value.

The trademark owner of Kronen & Söhne is Na-Chuan. The original trademark applicant filed on December 20, 2012. I have found no other records confirming Kronen & Söhne's assertions or prior existence. 

Why would they need a designer if they buy pre-existing designs? And how does "his team" produce a new technology called TACT, when the models use familiar Asian movements such as Liaong?

Final Verdict

Regardless of how they manage their brand, you only have to ask one question:

Is it a good value for the money?

Answer: If you like it.

Frankly, I don't like KS. They flood the market with cheap product and give nice Chinese watches a bad rap.
