The Best Shark Mesh Watch Band Similar to the Ploprof Omega

The Omega Seamaster 600m Ploprof has inspired the development of many mesh bands. I can't say that I've tried them all, but I have tried a bunch. Then I found "the one". I personally consider this band an improvement in the Omega product. For example, this band from Band Stand has a double locking clasp found in the best divers watches. It has extra links on the mesh itself, which use screws to remove links. It's also a strong mesh.

For a few days on eBay, I listed a stainless steel watch with a Ploprof band. I kept a close eye on it and when I saw the volume of visitors and watchers, I ended the listing early.

I decided to keep the watch and wear it. I have to say, it's my favorite watch ever. The mesh band transformed a simple case with ETA 2436 clone. I go through watches like a kid, but this is what I call, a keeper.

I really love the band.

What is it?

Omega called this type of band a Ploprof, which is a contraction of Plongeur Professional. That's German for Diver Professional.

My New Watch

I made an important decision two weeks ago. I removed a homage Panerai from my wrist. Among my circles of friends, you'd think I had invented something we could assemble in my home town of Paris, Texas.

In the past, I didn't recall waking up in the morning with a watch on my wrist. But since I assembled this one, it somehow just doesn't want to come off. Now, I have 76 watches from which to choose, but this is the one that chose me. I always "liked" the Seagull ST-2551, but never had an inkling that it could look so rich and unique. It does favor to the new trend in simple watches you will see coming out of Switzerland.

Reminds me of an Omega

I found a US seller on eBay that has them for $49.95. You read it correctly. For $49.95, he's selling a band for which people ask between $100 and $200. I think it should sell for more than that - it's much higher quality.
